Care For Those Who Serve

You spend your days taking care of everyone else. Your body deserves care, too. Nurses, therapists, physicians, technicians, medics and other healthcare professionals give an extraordinary amount of themselves to patients, teams and families. Dr. Paige understands that reality because she continues to work in inpatient rehabilitation herself.

Healthcare work is demanding, and your own care is often the first thing pushed aside. Mobile, one-on-one physical therapy creates space to address what your body needs without adding another clinic commute to the day.

THE PHYSICAL TOLL

Why Is Healthcare Work Different?

Healthcare work asks a lot of the body: prolonged standing and walking, patient handling, pushing equipment, awkward positions, repetitive charting, unpredictable shifts and the simple fatigue that comes from caring for other people all day.

Divine Physical Therapy is designed to reduce friction around getting your own care. Visits are mobile, one-on-one and 75 minutes with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy. Care is centered in Stafford County, Virginia, with select nearby visits considered by arrangement.

"Mobile care is centered in Stafford County and Fredericksburg, with select visits in Quantico and Spotsylvania County considered by arrangement." The back pain gets ignored. The shoulder gets worked around. The workout gets skipped. The appointment gets postponed because there simply is not another hour in the day.

From One Healthcare Professional To Another

"I know how easy it is to keep pushing your own needs down the list."

We give so much of ourselves to caring for other people that there is often very little time or energy left to pour back into our own cup. I understand that personally. But taking care of yourself is not separate from taking care of others. To continue showing up for the people who depend on us, we have to protect our own health, strength and capacity too.

WHAT WE SEE MOST

What Brings Healthcare Workers To Physical Therapy?

Common concerns include back or shoulder pain after lifting or transferring a patient, foot and lower-extremity pain after long hours on hard floors, neck or upper-back symptoms aggravated by charting, and older injuries that never fully resolved because there was never a convenient time to address them.

Care may include orthopedic assessment, hands-on treatment when clinically appropriate, mobility work, progressive strengthening, movement retraining, dry needling when indicated, and strategies for returning to the specific demands of work and life. The goal is not simply to get through another shift; it is to rebuild enough capacity that work does not consume everything your body has available.

A NOTE ON WORKPLACE DEMANDS

Healthcare workers often manage unpredictable loads, limited space, equipment, fatigue and patients whose assistance needs can change quickly. Rehabilitation can improve strength, movement options and physical capacity, but it does not eliminate workplace hazards or replace appropriate staffing, lift equipment, safety policies or assistance from coworkers.

SCHEDULING AROUND SHIFT WORK

What About 12-Hour Shifts, Nights And An Unpredictable Schedule?

Your work schedule matters, but Divine is also a small mobile practice with limited appointment availability. Rather than promising that every shift pattern can be accommodated, scheduling is discussed during your complimentary Discovery Consultation. The goal is to identify realistic appointment options based on your work rotation, Dr. Paige's current availability, travel time and service area.

Sleep, fatigue and recovery are also considered when building the exercise plan. A difficult stretch of shifts may call for a different training dose than a well-rested week. The plan should fit the life you actually have, not the schedule someone wishes you had.

BEFORE IT BECOMES SERIOUS

What If I Am Not Injured But I Know The Job Is Catching Up With Me?

You do not have to wait until a problem becomes severe. The Performance & Prevention side of the practice can be used to establish a baseline, identify meaningful mobility or strength limitations, and develop a focused plan for the demands of your role. Screening does not predict or guarantee prevention of future injury; it helps identify what may be worth addressing now.

Dr. Paige continues clinical work in inpatient rehabilitation. That experience matters because healthcare workers do not need their jobs explained back to them. The conversation can focus on what hurts, what the job actually requires, what you have already tried, and what would make the biggest difference with the limited time you have available.

PRIVACY AMONG COLLEAGUES

What If We Know Each Other Professionally?

Professional overlap does not change the standard of care or privacy expectations. Your healthcare information is handled according to applicable privacy requirements and Divine's Privacy Policy. Information is not shared with an employer, coworker or other third party unless you authorize it or disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

If professional proximity makes you uncomfortable, say so during the Discovery Consultation. Dr. Paige can discuss whether Divine is the right fit before a provider-patient relationship is established.

YOUR CARE SHOULD NOT BECOME ANOTHER BURDEN

What Respect For A Healthcare Worker's Time Looks Like.

Your first evaluation is designed to include both assessment and treatment when clinically appropriate. Home programs are prioritized around the few things most worth your time rather than an unrealistic list of exercises. Findings are explained clearly, questions are welcomed, and follow-up frequency is based on clinical need, progress and what you can realistically manage.

New clients begin with a complimentary Discovery Consultation before an evaluation is scheduled. Once established in the practice, scheduling and payment are managed through Jane. If an appropriate appointment is not currently available, Jane's waitlist tools may be used when applicable to help match established clients with openings.
