THE RANGE

What Kinds Of Group Workshops Are Available?

Divine Physical Therapy offers flexible, in-person workshops and group education led by Dr. Thea Paige, PT, DPT. Topics can include workplace ergonomics, lifting and body mechanics, injury prevention, orthopedic and sports-related concerns, mobility and recovery, core and pelvic floor health, bladder and bowel education, and other movement or musculoskeletal topics relevant to your group.

There is no one-size-fits-all workshop. A healthcare team, moms’ group, church gathering, fitness community, workplace, group of friends, or family-centered event may all need something different. Workshops can be adapted to the people in the room and the questions they actually want answered.

WORKPLACE ERGONOMICS

What Does A Workstation Assessment Include?

An ergonomic assessment looks at each person in their actual workstation: chair, desk and monitor geometry, keyboard and input positioning, sit-stand habits, and more importantly how that person actually sits, reaches and moves through a working day. Each assessment ends with specific, prioritized adjustments, most of which cost nothing to implement.

The written summary distinguishes equipment problems from habit problems, because they need different fixes. A monitor riser solves the first kind in a day; the second kind needs the person to understand what their body is doing and why it complains which is exactly what a clinician on site can teach in the moment, at the desk, with the chair the person actually sits in.

Clinical Perspective on Posture

There is no perfect posture tissue tolerates almost any position briefly and almost no position indefinitely. Sustained static load slowly outpaces the tissue's recovery, which is why the most effective ergonomic intervention is rarely a better chair and usually a workstation that makes changing position easy and frequent.

Delivered by the practice's sole clinician - the same one your people would see if they ever needed individual care.

TEAM & GROUP EDUCATION

Which Teams Is Group Education Built For?

Three kinds of groups, each with a different curriculum — built around the work your people actually do.

01

Healthcare Shift Teams

Healthcare shift teams get lifting and transfer mechanics, plus recovery strategies for bodies that work twelve-hour nights.

02

First Responder Units

First responder units get load, gear and unpredictable-demand training built around the reality that their recovery is never scheduled.

03

Gyms & Training Staff

Gyms and training staff get pressure management, coaching cues and the red flags worth referring out.

Dr. Paige builds each session from clinical experience with these exact populations - healthcare workers, military service members and first responders are a significant share of the practice's one-on-one caseload, and that individual care continues through physical therapy for military, first responders and shift workers.

“I screen shift workers and first responders differently from athletes, because the load is unpredictable and the recovery is not chosen. An athlete can periodize; a trauma nurse cannot. Team education that ignores that difference produces advice nobody can follow — so mine starts from the schedule your people actually work.”

FORMATS & GETTING STARTED

How Are Sessions Structured?

Three building blocks, combined to fit your team and your day: individual workstation assessments (scheduled in blocks so coverage isn't disrupted), a group education session (45-90 minutes, presentation plus live demonstration), and a written summary for leadership with prioritized, practical recommendations. A single lunch-hour talk works; so does a full on-site day; so does a recurring series.

Smaller organizations are welcome. A four-person studio gym and a hospital unit both get the same clinician and the same preparation - only the format scales. If your group wants the movement-focused curriculum instead, the Core & Pelvic Foundations workshop can be hosted privately for your team, and the broader community formats live on the main workshops page.

Workstation Blocks

1-on-1 desk checkups scheduled in shifts so coverage remains intact.

02

Group Education

Interactive presentation with real demonstration and movement cues.

Executive Report

Written findings distinguishing equipment needs from zero-cost habits.

YOUR IDEA

Have A Workshop Topic In Mind?

If you have a topic you would like your group to learn about, send an email or use the contact page and suggest it. You do not need to choose from a preset workshop menu. Share who the workshop is for, the topic or problem you want addressed, your approximate group size, and where you would like to host it. If it fits within Dr. Paige's scope and expertise, Divine Physical Therapy can help shape the idea into a practical, engaging workshop.

One thing worth saying plainly: these sessions are education and prevention, not medical treatment, and nothing in them creates a provider-patient relationship. When an assessment surfaces something that deserves individual clinical attention, the recommendation says so - to the person, privately - and what they do with it is entirely theirs.

HOW AN ENGAGEMENT RUNS

Four Steps From Enquiry To Written Recommendations.

01

Scope

A short call about your team, the work they do, and the problems you're seeing - followed by a written proposal.

02

Schedule

Sessions planned around your operations: shift changes, coverage requirements and quiet hours all respected.

03

Deliver

On-site assessments and education, taught live by a Doctor of Physical Therapy — never a slideshow left to run itself.

04

Report

A written summary for leadership: what was found, what to change first, and what costs nothing to fix.

DADS, FAMILIES & LIFTING

Dads Are Welcome, Too.

Have a dads’ group, father-and-son workout group, church men’s group or a few friends who want to lift smarter? I’d be happy to build a practical workshop around strength, lifting mechanics and staying active without ignoring the warning signs your body is giving you.

Sessions can include squat, hinge, carry, push and pull mechanics; core and pressure-management strategies; shoulder and back considerations; warm-up and mobility ideas; and individualized movement checks when appropriate. Father-and-son sessions can also focus on learning safe, age-appropriate lifting technique and building good training habits together.

Education can include how breathing, bracing, load and pressure management interact during lifting. These strategies may help reduce unnecessary strain, but no screening or lifting technique can guarantee prevention of a hernia, back injury, shoulder injury or other medical condition.

Important Medical Note

If someone already has a suspected hernia, new bulge, significant pain, unexplained weakness or other concerning symptoms, the workshop is not a substitute for an individual medical evaluation.

Let’s Build a Workshop Together

Have a group or an idea? Email care@divinephysicalhealth.com or contact Dr. Paige. Tell me who is coming, the approximate ages, where you would like to meet and what you want to learn. If you have an appropriate gym, garage, church space, field or other location we can use, let's see what we can build.

YOUTH AND TEAM OPTIONS

Have A Team, A Field And Some Space? Game On.

I’d love to bring private injury-prevention and movement-screening sessions to kids and their sports teams. If your team has a field, gym, studio or other appropriate space we can use, reach out and let’s talk about what would be useful for your athletes.

Team sessions can be tailored to the sport and age group and may include education and screening of areas such as mobility, balance, strength, movement control, landing or change-of-direction mechanics, and other physical demands relevant to the sport.

This is screening and education - not a guarantee that an injury can be predicted or prevented. The goal is to identify useful movement or performance considerations, teach athletes practical strategies, and flag findings that may warrant an individual physical therapy or medical evaluation.

Interested? Email care@divinephysicalhealth.com or contact Dr. Paige with the sport, athletes' approximate ages, team size, location and what you would like the session to focus on. Private team sessions are arranged individually based on the group, space, travel and availability.
