Workshops: Education Is The Treatment Plan
Some of the most useful things a physical therapist knows don’t need a treatment table, they need a room, a whiteboard, and an hour of your attention. Divine Physical Therapy brings small-group education on core, pelvic floor and breath mechanics to gyms, birth centers, churches, schools and workplaces across the community.

THE BASICS
What Are Divine PT Workshops?

Divine PT workshops are small-group education sessions, usually four to eight people, taught by Dr. Thea Paige, PT, DPT, in Stafford County and Fredericksburg, Virginia. They cover core, pelvic floor and breath mechanics, safe return to exercise, and workplace ergonomics, hosted in gyms, birth centers, churches, schools and workplaces across the community.
Workshops are not clinical care and no one is examined or treated in one. They exist because understanding your body is the first half of every plan of care this practice writes — and because that understanding shouldn’t be available only to people who book an evaluation.
The community education arm of the practice
Every workshop below is written and taught by the same clinician who delivers the one-on-one care, no scripts, no franchised curriculum.

THE SERIES
What Is The “Core, Pelvic Floor & Breath” Series?
"Core, Pelvic Floor & Breath" is a three-part small-group series - Reconnect, Restore, Renew - for groups of four to eight people. Reconnect teaches how the diaphragm, abdominal wall and pelvic floor actually share pressure. Restore rebuilds coordination between them. Renew turns that coordination into a return-to-exercise strategy you can carry into any gym or living room.
01. PART ONE
Reconnect
Diaphragm, abdominal wall, and pelvic floor pressure sharing.
02. PART TWO
Restore
Rebuilding coordination and neuromuscular timing.
03. PART THREE
Renew
Return-to-exercise strategy for any gym or home
The Coordination Paradigm:
The series is sequenced deliberately. Most core problems people arrive with are not strength problems; they are coordination and pressure problems wearing a strength costume. So the series starts with awareness and breath the first core exercise this practice ever prescribes, before it asks anything of your muscles.
The Pressure Canister:
The deep core is a pressure system, not a muscle group. Every breath moves pressure through that canister, which is why how you breathe under load changes what your core can do before a single strengthening exercise enters the picture.

Which Workshop Should I Start With?
FOR ACTIVE WOMEN & INDIVIDUALS
Core & Pelvic Foundations For Active Women
For most women, the flagship Core & Pelvic Foundations for Active Women workshop - breathing mechanics, rib cage positioning, core activation without over-bracing, pelvic floor basics, a return-to-exercise strategy, and a partner movement lab covering the hinge, squat and carry patterns you use every day. It is the most requested session this practice teaches, and it stands alone: you do not need the full series first.
FOR EMPLOYERS & TEAMS
Workplace Ergonomics & Shift Assessments
For employers and teams, the ergonomic and workstation assessments page covers group education for workplaces - healthcare shift teams, first responder units, gyms and office environments - shaped around the physical demands each group actually faces.
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
What Does "Pushing Through" Mean Here?
"Pushing Through" is the education theme running under every workshop: resilience is learned, and pushing through isn't powering past pain - it's knowing your body well enough to move forward with care. The phrase gets used to mean gritting your teeth. We teach the opposite skill: reading what your body is telling you and acting on it early.
That distinction matters most for the people these workshops serve - postpartum mothers told their symptoms are normal, shift workers whose recovery is never chosen, athletes who treat every warning sign as weakness. Learning the difference between productive effort and a signal worth respecting is a skill, it can be taught, and an hour in a room with other people learning it is often where it sticks.
Soreness vs. Information
THE THEME
“The clients who recover best are almost never the ones who push hardest. They are the ones who learned to tell the difference between soreness that means adaptation and pain that means information — and I have watched that lesson land faster in a room of six people comparing notes than in a hundred one-on-one explanations.”

HOSTING
Can My Gym, Birth Center, Church, Or School Host A Workshop?
Yes - hosting is how most workshops happen. Your organization provides the room and the invitation list; Dr. Paige brings the curriculum, the teaching and the handouts. Gyms, birth centers, churches, schools and employers across Stafford County and Fredericksburg have hosted sessions, and the format flexes from a single lunch-hour talk to the full three-part series.
Hosting costs your organization nothing but the room, and it gives your members something most venues can't offer: a Doctor of Physical Therapy answering their actual questions, in person, with no sales pitch attached. If you run a space where people move, birth, work or worship, reach out through the contact page and mention where you'd like to host.
THE TEAM
What Do You Offer Employers?
Ergonomic and workstation assessments, plus group education built around your team's real physical demands - lifting and transfer mechanics for healthcare teams, load and gear for first responders, desk and workstation setup for office environments. Details, formats and how to request a proposal live on the corporate and group education page.
HOSTING
Be The First To Hear When A Workshop Is Scheduled.
Workshops are scheduled as venues and groups come together, so dates are announced by email first. One or two messages a month, only when there is something real to announce - a new date, a new venue, or a new session. No newsletters for the sake of newsletters.
